Minisforum has unveiled its newest compact mini mainframe, the UM870 Slim, with dimensions measuring just 130 x 127 x 50 mm, resulting in a remarkable volume of only 0.82L.

The UM870 Slim showcases a sleek, silver design and a convenient flat layout, making it easy to place horizontally. Additionally, it is compatible with VESA mounts, allowing for easy wall installation.

Performance-wise, the Minisforum UM870 Slim is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 8745H processor. This chip, built on the Zen 4 architecture, features 8 cores and 16 threads, reaching a maximum boost frequency of 4.9 GHz. Accompanied by a Radeon 780M graphics card, this setup forgoes the XDNA architecture's NPU module, eliminating AI acceleration capabilities.

In terms of memory and storage, the device includes two DDR5 memory slots (SO-DIMM) supporting up to 96GB of DDR5-5600 RAM, alongside space for two M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs. The system is also equipped with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 for robust wireless connectivity.

For cooling, the UM870 Slim employs an efficient cooling design, integrating a large quiet fan and three copper heat pipes to ensure stable operation at 65W. The active cooling system also benefits memory and storage, reducing temperatures by up to 25% to enhance heat management and prolong component lifespan.

Connectivity options are plentiful, featuring a USB4 port, two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, two USB 2.0 ports, a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port, an HDMI 2.1 port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
