At COMPUTEX 2024, AMD announced the highly anticipated Ryzen 9000 series desktop processors based on the advanced Zen 5 architecture, codenamed "Granite Ridge," along with two new chipsets for the AM5 platform: the X870 and X870E. While the Ryzen 9000 series is expected to be available on July 31st at 9 AM EST, the X870 and X870E motherboards are anticipated to hit the market in late September.

AMD Ryzen 9000 Series

Recently, Funtech, a retailer based in Slovenia, has started accepting pre-orders for Ryzen 9000 series processors, indicating that shipments will begin by August 2nd.

The 16-core Ryzen 9 9950X is listed at €659.90 (approximately Rs. 5,157.05), the 12-core Ryzen 9 9900X is priced at €499.90 (approximately Rs. 3,906.67), the 8-core Ryzen 7 9700X is available at €399.90 (approximately Rs. 3,125.18), and the 6-core Ryzen 5 9600X is offered for €309.90 (approximately Rs. 2,421.84).

Ryzen Pre-Orders

Compared to other Ryzen 7000 series processors on the same site—such as the Ryzen 9 7950X, which costs €510, and the X3D version, which is priced at €589—the new processors are attractively priced. Notably, the Ryzen 9 9950X is listed at an even lower price than both the Ryzen 9 7950X and the Ryzen 9 7950X3D. However, it is worth mentioning that Funtech's prices for the Ryzen 7000 series are not the lowest in Europe.

New processors often debut with relatively high prices, which typically adjust over time. For Ryzen processors, significant price adjustments post-launch are not uncommon. Given the potential arrival of the Ryzen 9000X3D series as soon as September, there may be additional pressure to reduce the prices of the Ryzen 9000 series in a shorter timeframe.
