Cyberpunk 2077 has released update 2.2, now available on PC, Playstation, and Xbox. This update brings significant enhancements in character customization, vehicle paint options, and photo mode. Notably, it optimizes performance, particularly benefiting Intel's latest Arrow Lake processors, with official claims suggesting a performance boost of up to 33%.

Previously, Intel confirmed its efforts to resolve Arrow Lake performance issues through firmware and BIOS updates. They disclosed that some performance improvements would be achieved via game-specific updates. The latest update for Cyberpunk 2077 reflects this ongoing optimization effort.

This performance uplift is a substantial advancement for the Arrow Lake processor family, placing it in a new performance category compared to previous iterations. According to data from Tom's Hardware, Arrow Lake processors initially showcased only marginal improvements over the i5-14400 at Cyberpunk 2077's 1080p Ultra settings.

However, with the new update, the Core Ultra 9 285K's average frame rate is anticipated to rise from 88.4 FPS to 117.57 FPS, surpassing the Core i9-14900K and matching the Ryzen 7 7800X3D.

While the average frame rate of 117.57 FPS still falls short of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D's 133.1 FPS, the 33% performance increase substantially enhances the competitiveness of the Arrow Lake chip.
