With the launch of the ARC B-series graphics cards, Intel has advanced its XeSS technology to the second generation, introducing the XeSS FG frame generation and the new XeLL low-latency technology. The focus now shifts towards game support for these enhancements.
The "F1 24" game has recently received the 1.16 upgrade patch, which officially incorporates support for XeSS 2. This patch integrates three major technologies: super resolution, frame generation, and low latency, promising enhanced image quality and higher frame rates.
However, players must wait for Intel's official release of ARC B-series drivers to fully utilize XeSS 2.
According to Intel’s official list, dozens of games in the initial batch support XeSS 2. These include titles like Marvel Contest of Nations, Fading Light 2, Assassin's Creed: Shadows, MechWarrior, Kill Space 3, MechWarrior: Violent City, Legends of the Immortalizer, The Citadel, NuDragon 8 Gaiden: Hawaiian Pirates, among others.
Notably, Marvel Contest of Champions has already integrated the necessary library files and can be upgraded for support easily.
It's important to highlight that the first generation of ARC A-Series cards also supports XeSS, thanks to Intel's use of the XMX engine for acceleration, which doesn't depend on specific optical flow accelerators. Theoretically, this means it could potentially be adapted to support other home GPUs in the future.
