New Benchmarks for AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 Revealed: Single-Core Parity with R9 7945HX3D, Multi-Core Still Lower

kyojuro 6/28/2024

At the beginning of this month, we reported on the initial AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 benchmarks with ASUS's new ProArt P16 laptop. Recently, ASUS uploaded two more benchmark scores for the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370: one from the new ProArt P16 and the other from the new Zenbook S16.

In terms of performance, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 in the ProArt P16 matches the R9 7945HX3D in single-core performance. It has also improved its multi-core performance compared to the previous test. Meanwhile, the Zenbook S16's performance comes close to that of the R9 8945HS.

ProArt P16 Benchmark

In the latest results, the ProArt P16's single-core benchmark score has significantly improved to 2833 points from the previous 2544, surpassing the R9 7945HX3D's 2820 points. The multi-core score also increased, with 615 more points than the last score of 14,158, although it remains lower than the R9 7945HX3D's 16,460 points. While ASUS did not specify the power strategy used for the test, the new scores were achieved at an accelerated frequency of 4.52GHz (4521MHz), presumably under a performance-like mode.

Zenbook S16 Benchmark

As for the Zenbook S16, more detailed information is available. The test platform was accelerated at 3.7GHz (3705MHz) with quad-channel 32GB of DDR5 RAM, with the power strategy in balanced mode during testing. In this state, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 on the Zenbook S16 scored 2,558 in single-core and 13,613 in multi-core benchmarks, which is close to the R9 8945HS's score of 2,553 single-core and 12,989 multi-core in performance mode.

AMD officially announced the Ryzen AI 300 series processors at this year's Computex 2024. The Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 features four Zen 5 architecture cores and eight Zen 5c architecture cores, totaling 12 cores and 24 threads. It has a base operating frequency of 2.0GHz and a maximum acceleration frequency of 5.1GHz. The processor also includes an RDNA 3.5 architecture GPU with a total of 16 CU units and an additional XDNA 2 neural processing unit delivering 50 TOPS of performance.
