Intel has recently updated its official overclocking software, Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU), to version 10.0.0.76. This Windows-based performance tuning software caters to both novices and experienced enthusiasts by supporting overclocking, monitoring, and stress testing of systems. The latest version now accommodates the new generation of Core Ultra 200 series processors, codenamed "Arrow Lake".

Intel XTU Update

Currently, Extreme Tuning Utility offers two branch versions:

  • XTU version 7.14.2.14 - Supports unlocked 14th generation Core processors and earlier.
  • XTU version 10.0 or higher - Supports unlocked Core Ultra 200 series processors.

All versions of the Extreme Tuning Utility necessitate a chipset that fully supports overclocking (IA, BCLK, memory), such as Z890, Z790, and Z690 chipsets marked with a "Z". Intel discontinued support for 7th Gen Core (Kaby Lake) in their 2022 update, requiring users to have at least an 8th Gen Core (Coffee Lake).

The updates in XTU version 10.0.0.76 include:

  • Replacement of the previous XTU driver with Intel Innovation Platform Framework;
  • Addition of SA Fabric control;
  • Introduction of the Dual Reference Frequency control function;
  • Inclusion of the Fine Per-Core Ratio feature;
  • Enhanced support for maximum voltage;
  • Adjustment of per-core ratios without automatic changes based on the active core ratio;
  • Energy-efficient cores now supporting core-specific Turbo Boost Voltage (TVB) overclocking.

The P-Core and E-Core of the Core Ultra 200 series desktop processors have been advanced to the new Lion Cove and Skymont architectures, respectively. This update facilitates the adoption of the new LGA 1851 socket, displacing the existing LGA 1700 socket. The first five models, all featuring the "K/KF" suffix, will be available for purchase starting October 24th.
