Apple is gearing up not only to update its iPhone lineup later this year but also to introduce a new range of Macs, according to recent media reports. This month, Apple's supply chain began mass production of the MacBook Pro in two sizes, 14 and 16 inches.
The new devices will feature the highly anticipated M4 Pro and M4 Max chips, with an official unveiling expected in October.
Public information indicates that the standard M4 series chip has already entered commercial mass production, making its debut in the iPad Pro. This chip utilizes TSMC's advanced second-generation 3nm process (N3E).
Compared to the previous generation M3 chip, the M4 series boasts a 25% improvement in multi-core performance. As a result, the M4 Pro and M4 Max are also expected to deliver around a 25% enhancement in multi-core performance.
One of the most notable features of the M4 Pro and M4 Max chips is the integration of Apple's new neural network engine, designed to provide computational support for Apple Intelligence.
Apple Intelligence is understood to be a sophisticated personal intelligence system that incorporates powerful generative models into iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices to meet various user needs.
