With the release of the Ryzen 9000 series, the eagerly awaited Ryzen 9000X3D series won't be too far behind. However, this time, things will be a bit different.
The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is expected to debut solo at the end of October. This isn't surprising, as the x800X3D models have always been incredibly popular, offering the best price/performance ratio. Its single CCD design also makes it ideal for gaming.
On the other hand, the Ryzen 9 9000X3D series, including the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X3D, is rumored to feature new enhancements. However, these models will likely launch early next year. The exact details of these improvements are still under wraps.
Considering that these Ryzen 9 models both use dual CCDs, there might be scheduling issues related to how the 3D cache will be distributed between the two CCDs.
AMD previously revealed that the next generation of 3D cache technology would be revolutionary, marking a true second generation.
Additionally, a six-core Ryzen 5 9600X3D is also in the pipeline, though its release is expected much later, likely in the first half of next year. It's unclear whether it will be an OEM-exclusive release or available for direct retail.
In the previous two generations, the Ryzen 5 5600X3D and 7600X3D were released later, with the former being an OEM exclusive while the latter was available for retail.
AMD has designed a new box style for the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The overall style remains similar, but the color scheme has noticeably changed.
The upper side of the box reads "Ultimate Processor for Elite Gaming," showcasing AMD's confidence. It's clear they believe Intel's upcoming Core Ultra 200K series won't match up.
