Taking Back the Lead! Intel Core Ultra 9 285K Benchmark Revealed: 14% Faster Than AMD Ryzen 9 9950X

The latest Geekbench benchmarks reveal that Intel's upcoming Core Ultra 9 285K flagship processor boasts a 14% faster multi-core performance compared to the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X.

The test utilized the ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 APEX motherboard, equipped with 48GB of DDR5-7200 RAM (dual-channel). This motherboard is designed to support the new LGA 1851 socket and succeeds the Z790 APEX.

In Geekbench evaluations, the Core Ultra 9 285K achieved 3,420 points in single-core performance and an impressive 23,376 points in multi-core performance.

Compared to the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X, Intel's processor leads by 2% in single-core performance and a staggering 14% in multi-core performance. When compared to its own Core i9-14900K, there's an 11-12% improvement.

Performance Comparison

The Core Ultra 9 285K features 24 cores, including 8 performance cores (P-cores) and 16 efficiency cores (E-cores), supporting 24 threads. It operates at a base frequency of 3.7 GHz and can be boosted up to 5.7 GHz.

The processor also includes 36MB of L3 cache and has a thermal design power (TDP) of 125W (PL1).

It is worth noting that benchmark scores represent the processor's performance under specific test conditions. Real-world performance may vary based on factors such as system configuration, cooling solutions, and software optimization.

Both the Core Ultra 9 285K and the ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 APEX motherboard are anticipated to be officially unveiled in October, so there is much to look forward to.
