AMD's upcoming next-generation graphics card, the Radeon RX 9070 XT, has had its name and performance metrics confirmed recently.
According to leaked screenshots shared by @All_The_Watts, the RX 9070 XT achieved a graphics score of 22,894 in the Time Spy test. This score positions it as only 2% faster than the RX 7900 GRE, yet approximately 17% slower than the RX 7900 XT.
In comparison to NVIDIA's lineup, the RX 9070 XT is approximately equivalent to the RTX 4070 Ti, though it falls short when stacked against the RTX 4070 Ti Super. It is important to note that these findings are derived from a comprehensive benchmark assessment, which may not fully represent gaming performance.
Despite not yet matching the standards of the high-end market, the RX 9070 XT holds its ground within the mid-to-high-end market. It presents a compelling option for users seeking performance that surpasses the RX 7900 GRE.
However, considering the current market dominance held by NVIDIA, AMD must adopt a competitive pricing strategy to ensure the RX 9070 XT presents a preferential value over previous models.
AMD is anticipated to make the official announcement of the RX 9070 XT at CES 2025, alongside other graphics cards built on the RDNA 4 architecture. The event will also feature the introduction of AMD's FSR 4 super-resolution technology and the Ryzen 9000X3D processor series.
