The countdown to the release of Apple's new iPhone 16 series has begun, and Foxconn is in the midst of a major hiring spree as it enters the peak season of stock preparation.
According to media reports, hourly wages for workers at the Foxconn Technology Park in Zhengzhou, China, have been increased by RMB 2, while rebates for those who complete a 90-day work period have been raised by RMB 200.
There are long lines of applicants interviewing for jobs every day, with agents noting that "90% of the interviews are successful."
Due to positive market expectations for the iPhone 16 series, Apple has ramped up production. To meet this demand, Foxconn recruited 50,000 workers in just two weeks to ensure full stock of the iPhone 16 series.
Apple aims to ship 90 million units of the iPhone 16 series this year, with strong sales anticipated. As the world's largest iPhone production base, Foxconn is operating at full capacity.
Public reports indicate that Foxconn accounts for 70% of all global iPhone production, with the vast majority coming from its Zhengzhou factory, which is the most important production site for iPhones. Typically, the latest iPhone models are first produced at Foxconn's Zhengzhou plant. Once production stabilizes, other factories begin manufacturing the new iPhones.
