Mark Gurman has broken the news: Apple is set to launch the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac in October, all featuring standard M4-series chips.

The new Apple Macs are rumored to come with two variations of the M4 chip: one with a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, and another with an 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU.

It's noteworthy that previous Mac devices often debuted the M-series chips, but this year, Apple has chosen to debut the M4 chip with the iPad Pro, which is also Apple's first OLED iPad.

According to Apple's official announcement, the iPad Pro will feature the M4 chip in two configurations: the 256GB/512GB versions will have a 9-core CPU and 10-core GPU, while the 1TB/2TB versions will be equipped with a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU (with an additional performance core).

Additionally, the M4 chip comes with Apple's most powerful neural network engine to date, capable of operating at up to 38 trillion operations per second (38 TOPs). This is very close to Microsoft's definition of an AI PC standard, which includes running Copilot locally with an NPU boasting 40 TOPs of performance.

Before unveiling the new Macs, Apple will host a launch event for the new iPhone 16 series in September.
